Working for OU as Chancellor, Dale Sky Jones became President & CEO of the world's first cannabis education institution, Oaksterdam University, after a crippling federal raid in 2012. Dale’s leadership in the crisis ensured the 25-year Oaksterdam legacy of cannabis education, social justice, and policy reform continued. She established policies to re-invest in communities impacted by the War on Drugs and works on cannabis policy reform as the path towards civil rights and social justice. Oaksterdam was contracted for Social Equity programs for the City of San Francisco and is still working for the City of Los Angeles to provide business, licensing, and compliance technical assistance for professional development and workforce training.
Dale became the spokeswoman and legislative liaison for the first statewide legalization campaign over a decade ago. Oaksterdam first ignited the debate in 2010, creating the blueprint for legalization internationally. A founding Board Member of the NCIA, she also served as Chairwoman for the Coalition for Cannabis Policy Reform (ReformCA), whose efforts led to legalization in California. She has educated thousands of regulators, legislative staffers, and elected officials around the globe. Now, Oaksterdam is proud of over 50,000 alumni from more than 40 countries becoming the most engaged professional advocates and business people worldwide. Trusted certification programs include Business, Horticulture, Budtending, Extractions, and Manufacturing as well as specialized workforce development.
