John “Jack” Nichols has more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement, civil and criminal litigation, international business development and legal compliance. Jack’s career began as NYPD patrolman in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, followed by service as a detective with the Maine Attorney General’s Office where he investigated anti-trust violations, public corruption allegations, and complex white-collar crimes.
In 2006, Jack obtained his JD from Northeastern University School of Law. Upon graduation, he became an Assistant Attorney General in the US Virgin Islands where he was cross-designated to litigate both civil and criminal matters, with an emphasis on public corruption and violent crime prosecutions. Jack later served as Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Maine, prosecuting firearms and narcotics violations in Federal Court.
His regulatory background includes 3rd party collaboration with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the establishment of the Massachusetts Medical Marijuana Program and consultation with other states in the drafting of their cannabis rules and regulations.
Since 2015, Jack has served General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary for FLRish, Inc., and he now serves in-house for Harborside following its merger with FLRish, Inc.
