Marcos Morales is an agronomist and ethnobotanist who has been working with the cannabis plant for over 17 years. After graduating from Florida State University with a B.S. in Biology and Biochemistry, Marcos was invited to conduct post-graduate research at Seeds of Change maintaining the world’s largest organic seed bank. At Seeds of Change, Marcos worked with more than 700 varieties of fruits and vegetables and 500 varieties of medicinal herbs, thereby gaining invaluable expertise regarding bio intensive agricultural practices and techniques. After completing this apprenticeship, Marcos moved to California to continue his studies with cannabis and applying his newly-gained experience to this emerging field. In 2011, Marcos shifted focus to Europe where he learned more about international standards for quality, and eventually founded Emerald Imports, a Barcelona-based hydroponics distribution company whose contracts span the EU and UK. While living in Spain, Marcos collaborated with established seed breeders to help satisfy the international demand for california cannabis genetics. Upon returning to the States, Marcos teamed up with other passionate trailblazers to co-found The Legion of Bloom, where he now serves as the Director of Cultivation; since 2013 , The Legion of Bloom has won a total of fourteen Cannabis Cups in three different countries.
