A Safe Summit & Expo Experience  

We’re working very closely with our hospitality and convention facility partners at Moscone Center to ensure the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo will be as safe as possible. Our number one priority is ensuring that our attendees, sponsors, exhibitors, and partners have a safe, clean, and enriching experience, and we will continue to monitor and implement health & safety protocols. Cannabis Business Summit and Expo follows all guidelines as mandated by Moscone Center, City of San Francisco,  San Francisco Department of Health and the State of California

Important mandatory health and safety guidelines set by San Francisco:

  • All event participants of the Cannabis Business Summit and Expo 2022 and staff will be required to provide their own well-fitted face mask and wear it covering their nose and mouth throughout the entire event.
  • Per the order of San Francisco, ALL participants of events in Moscone Center, which includes the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo 2022, must show valid proof of full vaccination(s) against COVID-19 along with an official government-issued photo ID in order to be permitted to enter into Moscone Center and/or event.  Providing a self-attestation of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in lieu of proof of full vaccination(s) is not permitted and you will not be allowed entry into the Moscone Center or event.

Our Procedures

Enhanced Cleaning

  • Moscone Center implemented regularly scheduled and enhanced cleaning of the event space using the protocols established by ASM Global’s VenueShield.
  • Plus, Moscone Center has received the highly coveted and universally recognized GBAC STAR accreditation, meaning they:
    • have established and maintained a cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention program to minimize risks of infectious agents like the novel coronavirus.
    • have the proper cleaning protocols, disinfection techniques, and work practices in place to combat biohazards and infectious diseases.
    •  have employed highly informed cleaning professionals who are trained for infectious disease prep and response.

Minimal Physical Contact

  • Participants will be encouraged to limit physical contact, such as handshakes and embraces.
  • Aisles will be a minimum of ten (10) feet.
  • Capacity throughout the event will be aligned with the venue and local regulations and will be monitored by trained staff.

Personal Hygiene

  • All event participants and staff will be required to provide their face mask and wear it covering their nose and mouth throughout the entire event.

Other than when eating or drinking, masks will be required to be worn at all times when inside Moscone Center and the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo

  • Per the order of San Francisco, ALL participants of events in Moscone Center, which includes the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo 2021, must show valid proof of full vaccination(s) against COVID-19 along with an official government-issued photo ID in order to be permitted to enter into Moscone Center and/or event.  Providing a self-attestation of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test in lieu of proof of full vaccination(s) is not permitted and you will not be allowed entry into the Moscone Center or event.

  • NCIA Cannabis Business Events will continue to advise ticket holders on proper safety measures and may provide additional PPE at the event.

Frequent Sanitization and Additional Measures

  • Hand sanitizer stations will be placed at all entryways and strategically throughout the entire event space.
  • High-touch surfaces will be sanitized frequently throughout the duration of the event.
  • Food & Beverage will be available for purchase, in individual portions, from the exclusive venue provider adhering to the highest safety standards. Food will be only be permitted to be consumed in designated areas.
  • If necessary, NCIA Cannabis Business Events will work with local health departments and government authorities to trace and contact participants are our events, in accordance with local privacy regulations.

Pre-Event Screening

  • All participants will be required to complete a Health & Safety waiver/questionnaire during the ticket purchase process. Additional Health & Safety waivers may be required onsite prior to entry or picking up tickets.
  • EMTs and First-Aid professionals will be onsite from move-in to move-out and they will be staffing temperature check areas, offering first-aid, and providing a separate quarantine area if necessary for participants.

Vaccination Requirements and Valid Proof of Fully Vaccinated

Fully Vaccinated Definition:

Full vaccination means you completed the entire recommended series of vaccination (usually one or two doses) with a vaccine authorized to prevent COVID-19 by the FDA or by the World Health Organization (WHO).  A vaccination card similar to a CDC vaccination record card issued by a foreign governmental jurisdiction is an acceptable form of proof of vaccination.  Lists of FDA-authorized vaccines and WHO-authorized vaccines are available.

As of 15 November 2021, WHO has evaluated that the following vaccines against COVID-19 have met the necessary criteria for safety and efficacy:

COVID-19 Vaccines Authorized for Emergency Use or FDA-Approved

Valid Forms of Vaccination Proof:

Valid forms of vaccination proof include a valid photo ID and:

  • Original, copy or electronic photo of the CDC vaccination card (or similar documentation issued by another foreign governmental jurisdiction); or
  • documentation from a healthcare provider; or
  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by the State of California available by going to https://myvaccinerecord.cdph.ca.gov; or
  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by another State, local, or foregin governmental jurisdictions; or
  • personal digital COVID-19 vaccine record issued by an approved private company.

Accepted Digital Vaccine Cards:

The following companies provide digital vaccine cards approved for use by San Francisco businesses:

  • Bindle (businesses using this must also check against photo ID)
  • CLEAR HealthPass
  • CommonPass (businesses using this must also check against a photo ID)
  • MyChart by Epic (a QR code is generated within your account). Examples of healthcare systems that use this system (businesses using this must also check against a photo ID):
  • SFDPH MyChart
  • UCHealth-Colorado
  • UCSF MyChart
  • VaxYes (using their level 2 verification)
  • VXPASS (businesses using this must use VXPASS app/verification webpage and must also check against photo ID)
