NCIA Events 2020
NCIA continues to plan for the 2020 Cannabis Business Summit & Expo with an overriding focus on the health and safety of all participants, as the world grapples with the COVID-19 pandemic. #CannaBizSummit is scheduled for September 29 – October 1, 2020 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center, with many exhibiting companies confirming their plans for participation in this year’s event.
In preparation for the show, #CannaBizSummit show management is in close contact with all relevant local and state authorities in medicine and government, as well as leaders at the San Francisco Travel, Moscone Center and the event’s official hotels, to ensure proper guidelines are implemented for maintaining safety at #CannaBizSummit.
With guidance from these and other organizations, the association will apply the highest standards of sanitation and prevention, social gatherings, exhibit hall and meeting rooms, food preparation and other aspects of the event.

Is NCIA going forward with the 2020 Cannabis Business Summit & Expo?
Yes. NCIA is currently working with the cannabis community, San Francisco Travel, Moscone Center, the event’s official hotels and local and state officials in California to produce a safe, highly valued show for the industry on September 29 – October 1, 2020.
What measures are being taken to ensure the health and safety of attendees and exhibitors at the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo?
#CannaBizSummit is partnering with San Francisco Travel, Moscone Center, the event’s official hotels and all relevant local and state authorities to understand the full range of necessary safety measures to ensure attendees and exhibitors enjoy a safe show. This includes a review of all activities surrounding the convention center. The full list of safety measures is being developed, but may include the following:
- Enhanced cleaning and disinfecting of common surfaces
- Creating space for social distancing in meeting rooms, the exhibit hall, registration area, restrooms and transportation
- Special consideration for food preparation and service
The complete list of updated health and safety procedures will be published as the show dates approach.
Will I have to wear a face mask?
Attendees and exhibitors will likely be asked to participate in many new safety protocols. These will likely include but not limited to: wearing face masks; practicing social distancing; dedicated entrance and exits to the exhibit halls; using one-way aisles; and changes in seating for keynotes, meeting rooms and food areas. Additional details will be provided leading up to the event.
Can I still sign up to exhibit?
Absolutely. We continue to receive exhibit applications. Exhibit space is beginning to fill up, but there is still space available.
If we cancel and or downsize our exhibit, can we get a refund?
As of this time, NCIA intends to proceed with the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo in San Francisco as planned, while working with government and industry experts to make informed ongoing decisions. If it becomes necessary for NCIA to postpone, reschedule or cancel the Cannabis Business Summit & Expo 2020 in San Francisco, refunds, if any, will be in accordance with the 2020 Cannabis Business Summit & Expo exhibit contract. No other refunds will be provided for cancellations or reductions in space.
